Dietitian · Writer · Systems Thinker · Builder

I notice where the standard explanation doesn’t quite fit.

I’m Carrie Eckersley, a UK registered dietitian working in primary care. My work moves between clinic, service design, writing and building — usually starting from a question that the usual pathway leaves unanswered.

Clinical work generates questions. Questions become writing, enquiry, redesign, or something built.

Framework

Biology of Safety

Why does the same advice or intervention land so differently for different people, or for the same person at different times? Biology of Safety is an interdisciplinary lens on how physiology, perception, context, behaviour, stress and recovery interact over time — treating health as capacity to adapt, not just absence of disease.

03 — Tools & projects

Each of these started as a problem that kept coming up: a question patients ask repeatedly, an explanation that never quite lands, or something easier to understand once it exists. Labelled so it’s clear what each one is — not everything here is an NHS product.

The threads connect: clinical work generates questions; questions become writing, service redesign, enquiry or tools.

I’m a UK registered dietitian working in primary care. I notice where the standard explanation or pathway doesn’t quite fit — and then explore, explain, design or build something more useful.
